Description |
Svenska: SKÅL. Sultanabad (?). Av halvfajans med krakelerad benfärgad matt glasyr; godset lätt och delvis halvgenomskinligt. Med rakt uppstående kant samt snett nedsänkt botten med nästan rak sida och plan mitt; på snett utstående, något insvängd låg fot. Dekor i grönsvart och blått under glasyren. På bottnens insida i mitten en rund rosett. Kring rosetten en krans av palmettornament. Runt övergången från bottnnes övre kant till den rakt uppstående sidan ett svart skriftband med utsparda skrivtecken. Bräddkanten blå, på insidan en i svart tecknad bård av sammanhängande, liggande spetsovala ornament. På utsidan runt brädden ett svart skriftband med utsparda skrivtecken. Nedanför skriftbandet åtta mot foten gående dubbla ränder i blått, melan dessa ett evrtikalt växtornament i grönsvart med fyra eller fem grupper parvis sittande blad. Om skrivtecken: Inskriften på insidan: 'Gud är oändlig' på persiska och 'den som åstadkom allsköns underverk' på arabiska. Det senare måste syfta på Muhammed. Vidare kan man dechiffrera åtskilliga ord, mest arabiska, men även persiska, av vilka somliga hör tillsammans, men det är inte möjligt att åstadkomma någon fullständig tolkning. Därför kan denna inskrift karakteriseras som en felaktig reproduktion av ett orientaliskt original. Inköpt av Wilhelmina von Hallwyls sterbhus den 7 augusti 1930 hos konsthandlare Hans Öström, Stockholm, för 725 kr. |
