Description
English: This image is a scanning electron micrograph (S.E.M.) of handmade paper. The fibers are from the Arizona barrel cactus plant (Ferocactus wislizeni,) This image was created in 2007 by Charles Kaziek as part of the science and art fusion collaborative called the Paper Project. Image magnification - 500X. This image shows some of the parts of the cactus tissue. The structures in the images are likely xylem that plants use to transport and store water. Xylem also transports nutrients
