Description
Français : Rhéomètres à rotation :
  • géométrie de cylindres coaxiaux, types :
    • Couette : le rotor inférieur impose la sollicitation [(gradient de) vitesse ou déformation] ; le stator supérieur mesure le couple,
    • et Searle : le rotor supérieur impose la sollicitation [(gradient de) vitesse, contrainte ou déformation] et mesure la grandeur complémentaire ;
  • géométrie de type plateaux parallèles (P-P) et cône-plan (C-P).

La majorité des viscosimètres à rotation sont du type « Searle » ; ils sont souvent qualifiés à tort de « Couette ».
R = rayon.
M(t) = (système de mesure du) couple de rotation sur le stator (type Couette) ou sur le rotor (type Searle).
Ω(t) = vitesse angulaire de rotation du rotor.
La partie mobile (rotor) est en rouge-orangé, le fluide en bleu clair et la partie fixe (stator) en bleu foncé.

Note : le système de mesure du couple n'est pas représenté pour les géométries P-P et C-P.
