English: An International Campaign for Florence and Venice was opened the 2 December at the UNESCO Headquarters by Mr René Maheu Director-General of the Organization with an appeal to the solidarity of its Member States. The Campaign is for the preservation and restoration of the works of arts of these two cities which were damaged during the floods in November 1966. Great stocks of books in the National Library and its historical collections have been devastated. Students removing damaged books from the Library Français : M. René Maheu, Directeur Général de l'UNESCO, a ouvert le 2 Décembre 1966, au siège de l'Organisation, par un appel à la solidarité des Etats Membres, la Campagne internationale pour la sauvegarde et la restauration des biens culturels de Florence et de Venise endommagés par les inondatiions de Novembre 1966. A la Bibliothèque Nationale, les collections historiques ont été endommagées. Ici, des étudiants font la chaîne pour sortir les livres |
