Photomicrograph of cross section of rabbit uterus at different stages of pseudopregnancy; A; 14 h, B; 3 days, C; 7 days and D; 18 days post injection of an ovulatory dose of HCG showing, endometrium, myometrium [inner circular (IC) and outer longitudinal (OL) smooth muscle fibers separated by tunica vascularize (containing blood vessels)]and perimetrium of the uterine wall, uterine folds, uterine glands and mesometrium. Note that the uterus at 14 h-3 days had a large lumen and thin wall when compared to 3-7 days which had more thinker wall and narrower lumen and 7-18 days which had the thickest wall and the narrowest lumen.
