Río Sil, Montefurado, Quiroga 2º Tunel.. Paralelo al grande ... Este lavadero de oro se construyó en el siglo II, en los tiempos del Emperador Trajano. Se hizo para desviar el canal del río Sil para recoger las pepitas de oro que arrastraban las corrientes. Considerado como una de las siete maravillas gallegas, muchos autores no se explican como pudo construirse en aquella época tal obra de ingeniería. Montefurado es una explotación aurífera en la cual se ha conseguido perforar con la acción del agua un tunel en la montaña. En el lugar hay dosTúneles, uno mas pequeño que tendrá 2,5 metros de alto por 2 metros de ancho, no se muy bien su funcion (tal vez este seria como un tunel auxiliar o un primer tunel que se quedó pequeño). Justo a unos 10 metros de este se encuentra el gran monte furado, una obra romana que impresiona. |
