Description
English: Purana is a genus of cicada from Southeast Asia. This is Purana tigrina. (ID: Kiran Marathe and Sankararaman H)


This is a newly emerged female. After moulting, they will find a suitable place and hang vertically. Their wings need to be inflated with the fluid and their skin will be harden prior to make the maiden flight. They are very helpless in this time and extremely vulnerable to predation.
Español: Purana tigrina es una especie de cigarra del género Purana nativa del Sudeste Asiático. Esta es una hembra recién emergida. Después de la muda, buscan un lugar adecuado y se colgarán verticalmente. Sus alas deben inflarse con el fluido hemolinfático y su piel tiene que endurecerse antes de realizar su primer vuelo.
