Description |
English: Complete pack of 52 double-ended playing-cards, plus a duplicate 2 of spades and a booklet giving instruction for the game of Whist and advertising Goodall's Whist markers. The ace of spades, which is lettered "The Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards" has a portrait head within the suit-mark. It is identified below as "Master Tom Wilkinson Esq." Beneath this the wardens of the Company are named as "H.D. Phillips Esq." and "H. Eskell-Paget Esq."; also named is "Clerk, W. Hayes Esq.".
