Description
English: View of the platform at the Commonwealth Railways break-of-gauge railway station at Port Augusta, South Australia.

At left is the Trans-Australian Express awaiting departure for Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, at the other end of the standard gauge Trans-Australian Railway. At right is an NM class locomotive awaiting departure with a passenger train for Quorn, South Australia, on the narrow gauge Central Australia Railway.

The NM class locomotive was built by Thompson Engineering & Pipe Co Ltd of Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia. It entered service in October 1925, and was recorded as still serviceable on standby in June 1958.
