English: Playpark, Block Sands and the Heugh Breakwater Work started on the breakwater in 1851 when it was constructed to a length of 750 feet. Twenty years later a further 600 feet was added. Today there is some concern about the state of the breakwater.
The playpark which includes a paddling pool was built as part of the refurbishment of the promenade in 2004. |
