"Through all my travels few things astonished me more than seeing the Beauties of the Harem smoking Narghilés at Stamboul. After smoking a sweet aromatic Pastil is used, which imparts an odour of flowers to the breath. I have seen these Pastils but once in Europe, at PIESSE & LUBIN'S Shop."–– Lady W. Montague.
