Summary

[edit]
Description
English:
Korányi Villa. Built to professor Korányi Frigyes M.D. Mr. Korányi was the family doctor of Széchenyi family. He persuaded the family, Dénes Széchényi, to set up a bathing or bathing colony here, since he obtained evidence from his own experience that the medicinal effect of Lake Balaton is immeasurable. The villa is a castle-like summer castle built in the Romanesque style and is a characteristic representative of the eclectic historical architecture of the late 19th century. This Villa with corner tower was designed by János Bobula, a famous Hungarian architect. It was completed in 1896. In 2021 under reconstruction - 13a Petőfi Sándor Street, Balatonföldvár, Somogy County, Hungary.
