Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Moustiers Selon la signalétique du parc naturel régional du Verdon, cet oratoire est l’un des plus anciens de toute la provence. Il aurait été érigé au XIVe siècle. Son allure, sa matière (il est en tuf) le distinguent parmi tous ceux que l’on rencontre sur le chemin de croix qui menait autrefois à Notre-Dame de Beauvoir. Les oratoires se nommaient « pillon, pierron » en provençal. Ils présentaient souvent, sur la face tournée vers le chemin, une excavation centrale dans laquelle une coupelle contenait de l’eau bénite. C’est ici une couverture tréflée. La grande croix qui le surmonte supportait un coq métallique. |
