The ambassador of Canada, Pierre Dupuy, unveils a monument on the market square in Almelo, which commemorates the liberation of the city by the Canadians in 1945. SHOTS: - A monument stands in the middle of the square, the plinth covered by a cloth; - soldiers are lined up; - the ambassador moves forward, followed by other notables, and pulls the cloth from the plinth and the text on the plinth becomes visible; - close up of the monument; - the notables hold a moment of silence; - scouts hoist the flag; - soldiers march past the statue (not really visible); 00:36 designer of the statue, mister Baljet.

Op het marktplein te Almelo onthult de ambassadeur van Canada, Pierre Dupuy, een monument dat herinnert aan de bevrijding van de stad door de Canadezen in 1945. SHOTS: - Midden op het plein staat het monument, de sokkel bedekt door een doek; - militairen staan erbij aangetreden; - de ambassadeur treedt, igv andere notabelen, naar voren en trekt de doek weg waardoor de sokkel en de tekst op de sokkel zichtbaar worden; - cu monument; - de notabelen nemen enkele ogenblikken stilte in acht; - verkenners hijsen vlaggen; - militairen defileren langs het beeld (niet goed zichtbaar); 00:36 de ontwerper van het beeld, de heer Baljet. |
