Description
English: Dux Palaestinae (Palestine) from Notitia dignitatum, a parchment manuscript, showing the Jordan river The Bodleian Library describes as follows: "The manuscript is modelled after the Carolingian copy (the lost Carolingian "Codex Spirensis") of a late antique manuscript. This manuscript is the earliest copy of this text to survive complete, made at Basel in 1436 by an Italian scribe and a French illuminator (Peronet Lamy) for Petrus Donatus, bishop of Padua."
العربية: فلسطين في لائحة المقامات العسكرية من السجلات البيزنطية (Notitia dignitatum)، ويظهر نهرالأردن في هذه المخطوطة الورقية. تصفها مكتبة بودلي في جامعة أوكسفورد على النحو التالي: "إن المخطوطة على غرار النسخة الكارولنجية (هناك نسخة مفقودة تعود للإمبراطورية الكارولنجية تسمى "Codex Spirensis") جاءت من من مخطوطة قديمة متأخرة. وهي أقدم نسخة من هذا النص بقيت كاملة حتى وقتنا الحاضر، صنع كاتب إيطالي ورسام فرنسي يدعى (بيرونيت لامي) هذه المخطوطة في مدينة بازل السويسرية في عام 1436، لأسقف مدينة باذوة الإيطالية بيتر دوناتو".
