English: Writers supporting the Duke of Grafton are shown falling from scaffolding outside the Duke's house which has been dislodged by "Middlesex Freeholders", i.e., the electors who returned John Wilkes to parliament in 1769.

Notes On 12 November 1768 two men were killed and others were injured as a result of an accident during the building of a house for the Duke of Grafton at the corner of Hay Hill.Stephens suggests that the falling writer labelled "Vindex" is Edward Weston, author of A Vindication of the Duke of grafton.
