Summary
[edit]DescriptionNazi destruction of the Freiburg Synagogue.jpg |
English: This is the only known photograph of the Freiburg Synagogue in ruins, taken on the day after the Reichskristallnacht. It is shown here on the informational stele at the memorial site on the Platz der alten Synagoge. The photo was taken by Wolf Middendorff, a Hitler Youth leader and law student in 1938. In the postwar era, Middendorf concealed his involvement with the Nazi Party and became a professor of law at the University of Freiburg. |
