English: Microorganisms recorded infecting Varroa destructor naturally at the USDA-ARS Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, Beltsville Maryland. 2-1–2-4: Beauveria sp. all stages of fungal development on Varroa. 2-5–2-8: Metarhizium sp. biotype 1 showing mycelia and spores on Varroa. 2-9–2-12: Metarhizium sp. prototype 2 growth and spore development on Varroa. 2-13–2-16: Paecilomyces spp. growing on Varroa, on PDA media and spores and mycelia characteristics. 2-17–2-20: Actinomycetes infecting Varroa and culture on PDA media. 2-21–2-24: Sampling Varroa for natural enemies using water drop and harvesting of Halicephalobus gingivalis nematode. |
