里村紹巴、昌叱両吟の連歌。「毛利千句」「厳島千句」とも称される。各句には両人の自注が記されている。奥書によれば、在京中の毛利輝元が、厳島で興行させた万句連歌成就の知らせを聞き、供養として両人に千句を命じ、さらに注をつけさせたものである。文禄3年(1594)5月21日から25日(写本によっては12日から16日とする)にかけ行われた。本写本は綴葉装(列帖装)の枡形本。巻末に文禄四年朱明(夏)中旬の書写奥書があり花押を記すが、書写者は未詳。第1丁に「宮内省図書印」を捺す。写本は比較的多く、穂久邇文庫に紹巴・紹叱自筆本があるが、本写本も成立時に近いころのものである。紹巴(1525?-1602)は里村昌休に学び、多くの武将とも交渉を持って活躍した。昌叱(1539-1603)は昌休の子。紹巴の女婿で義父に次ぐ位置にあった。
