Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Northbound Georgia State Routes 121 and 23 (Woodpecker Trail/Okefenokee Parkway) as it approaches a railroad crossing for the Norfolk Southern Railway Valdosta District line in Saint George, Georgia. This photo is the sixth in a series of 13 pictures of Saint George, and was taken from my car on February 28, 2024, while on route to Folkston, Georgia. This freight train was heading towards the Jacksonville Terminal Subdivision, and at the time of the photograph consisted mostly of piggyback semi-trailers and shipping containers. Four empty well cars can be seen here, one on the far left is owned by CSX, and the other three are by Sea Land corporation, which has been owned by Maersk since 1999.
