Description
English:
Apartment building. Built to Csongrád County Public Hospital in 1862. After the hospital moved, since 1906 here was the South Hungarian Public Education Association boarding school. From 1939 to 1944 the county's public education building, county and city libraries, archives and museum materials were located/storaged? here. From 1946 to 1949 it was the home of the József Attila People's Student Accomodation and or Collage?. - Attila József here-studied plaque and relief by Gyula Nagy (1954) on facade. On the plaque: 'Attila József lived here as a boarding school student and wrote his first poems here between 1920 and 1922 "We are the sons of Life, Dahlias anointed for battle, We'll move, hey, it will collapse then Beneath us is this old world!"/Attila József: March of Young Lives' / translated by bing - 10 Návay Lajos Square, Makó, Csongrád-Csanád County, Hungary.

'volt Demke-ház, Cím: Köztársaság tér 10.' azonosító: -11961 A Csanád vármegye közkórház kórházépületének épült. 1862-ben készült el, rendeltetés szerinti működése 1866-ban kezdődött. 1907-ben új (keleti ill. északi) szárnnyal bővült. 1906-tól Délmagyarországi Közművelődési Egyesület internátus Háború alatt megyei és városi könyvtárat, a levéltár és a múzeum anyaga volt itt Raktár?? /forrás: két a két épület alaprajza/. 1946-tól 1949-ig a József Attila Népi Kollégium otthona. A kórházi (nyugati?) szárnyat 1950-től lakásnak használják. József Attila 1920–1922-ben volt az intézet lakója. Itt lakott Gebe Márta, a költő első múzsája. Homlokzatán József Attila-dombormű (Nagy Gyula (szobrász) alkotása, Alumínium máshol bronz)[1] - Csongrád-Csanád megye, Makó, Návay Lajos tér (ex Köztársaság tér) 10.
