Title
Mount
Description
English: An incomplete copper-alloy phallic mount of Roman date. It is missing the terminal of the shaft due to old breaks, now worn.

It is D-shaped in section with a concave domed front face. The shaft expands very slightly to the base. To either side of the base is a slightly oblique, slightly curving ridge which separates the phallus from the rounded testicles. On the back face just above where the shaft joins the testicles is an integral spike. This is circular with flattened top.

This phallus measures 18.31mm in length, 7.10mm in width at the shaft, 18.64mm in width at the testicles, 4.71mm in thickness, 3.60g in weight.

There are similar examples recorded from Suffolk (Crummy et al, 2005, p. 158, no. 1, 4).
