Målning. Damporträtt. Nicolas Maes. HWY GR.XXXII:K.A.30.
Nyckelord: Kvinna, Porträtt, Nicolas Maes, Målning, Rött, Nederländerna, Föremålsbild
Description
-*- Maes, who although born in Dordrecht was a pupil of Rembrandt in Amsterdam, began his carreer as a painter of religious and genre scenes. However, after 1660 he devoted himself exclusively to producing small-scale portraits of this type, of which several hundred survive. This portrait was probably painted about 1680 and would have had a pendant male portrait.
