Description
Deutsch: Die Personen am runder Tisch können teilweise als Zeitgenossen Luthers identifiziert werden, der als Junker Jörg dargestellt ist und dem ein junger Mann einen Becher mit Wein reicht. Links neben Luther sitzt der Drucker Hans Lufft, der die Luther-Bibel und viele seiner Schriften verlegte. Christus am linken Rand schiebt Judas im gelben Gewand ein Stück des nach lutherischem Abendmahlsverständnis in Scheiben geschnittenen Brots in den Mund. Den Beutel mit seinem Verrräterlohn hält Judas in der Hand. Mit der Öffnung des Tisches am linken Rand wird der Betrachter zum Abendmahl eingeladen. Der Raum zeigt im Hintergrund symbolisch eine mächtige Eiche (Leben Offenb 2,3; 22,3) und eine dem Wittenberger Schloss ähnliche Burg auf einem Felsen, der Berg Zion, („Eine feste Burg...“) des Glaubens Witten-Berg.
