Français : La provenance exacte de ce panneau est inconnue. Dans un jardin près d’une rivière poissonneuse, sous les branches d’un pommier où s’aventure un serpent, quatre mystiques musulmans (soufis) sont rassemblés. Le thème de la réunion d’amis est fréquent dans l’art iranien des 17e et 18e siècles. Les décors des palais safavides d’Ispahan rendent compte des plaisirs des sens et de l’esprit au milieu d’une nature luxuriante. Ce panneau est réalisé dans une technique que l’on nomme décor « à la ligne noire » : sur un fond blanc opaque, les formes sont dessinées à l’aide d’un trait noir qui isole les différentes glaçures colorées apposées ensuite unes à unes. Cette technique de décor, très employée dès le 16e siècle, devient l’un des principaux ornements des palais.
