Description
English: London from Greenwich Park

A view from the top of the hill by the Observatory, with a weekend holiday crowd including a Greenwich Pensioner with a wooden leg, another hiring out his telescope for visitors to look through, and younger sailors and girls on the grass to the left. The time-ball on the east turret of Flamsteed House and the absence of 'Fame', the Greenwich Hospital School drill ship in front of the Queen's House, give the date bracket.
