| Notes | Il dipinto è una copia con alcune varianti di uno dei pennacchi della Loggia di Amore e Psiche di Raffaello e bottega (Villa Chigi o Farnesina), raffigurante Venere con Cerere e Giunone. Il tema dell'affresco raffaellesco è qui trasformato in un'allegoria delle Virtù teologali. Secondo lo storico dell'arte Giovanni Pietro Bellori (1613 - 1696) questa copia sarebbe stata realizzata da Annibale Carracci. La critica moderna ha rifiutato questa attribuzione a favore di un più generico riferimento alla bottega del pittore bolognese. |
