Summary
[edit]DescriptionLansdowne Strand Hotel and Curzon St, Calne - geograph.org.uk - 57250.jpg |
English: Lansdowne Strand Hotel and Curzon St, Calne. Looking west up Curzon Street in Calne with the Lansdowne Strand Hotel, an old coaching inn built for the London to Bristol traffic, prominent on the other side of the road. I added this picture in response to an American visitor to our site who asked where the new library was situated in relation to the Lansdowne Strand Hotel. He had stayed in that hotel several times on previous visits. His family ancestors came from the Calne area in the 1600s, at which time they sailed to what is now the Pennsylvania area of America. |
