| Description |
English: View from my room at Scandic Hotel in Tromsø of the snow covered mountains on Kvaløya. The airport in Tromsø is located just beyond these malls and warehouses, almost in the water.
As for Kvaløya, it's the large island separating Tromsøya, where the city of Tromsø is located, from the North Atlantic. But even if Kvaløya acts as a good breakwater, reducing the North Atlantic waves to ripples, its mountains are not tall enough to stop the many raging storms of this region to come ashore. Norsk bokmål: Utsikt fra rommet mitt på Scandic Hotel i Tromsø over de snødekte fjellene på Kvaløya. Flyplassen i Tromsø ligger like utenfor disse kjøpesentrene og varehusene, nesten i vannet.
Når det gjelder Kvaløya, er det den store øya som skiller Tromsøya, der byen Tromsø ligger, fra Nord-Atlanteren. Men selv om Kvaløya fungerer som en god molo, som reduserer de nordatlantiske bølgene til krusninger, er ikke fjellene høye nok til å stoppe de mange rasende stormene i denne regionen fra å komme i land. |
