English: Preserved biological specimen on paper. Preserved Specimen On A3 Paper With A Printed Label Identifying It In The Bottom Right Corner. The Paper Is Mounted On A Larger Cardboard And Covered With Plastic Which Is Sealed To The Board. There Are Five Samples. Four Are Sections Of Stems Which Have Been Cut From The Rest Of The Plant. All Have Groups Of Long, Oval Shaped Leaves Extending From Various Points And Offshoots. About Half Way Up The Stems Are Groups Of Flowers Or Seed Structures. There Appears To Be Three With Flower Blossoms And One With Seed Structures. One Of The Samples Has The Ink Inscription 'From King Pasture July 10, 1919. The Fifth Sample Is An Individual Leaf, Which May Have Come Unattached From One Of The Other Samples. There Is A Colored Drawing Of The Plant With Pink Flowers. It Was Done By Elsie May Kittredge In 1927. There Are Two Labels In The Right Corner, One Overlapping The Other. Information listed as Content Date and Place Descriptions are taken from the original specimen label. Place Descriptions are locations that are not necessarily publicly accessible within the park's boundary. Taking plants, fish, wildlife, rocks, or minerals is prohibited within park boundaries except in accordance with other regulations of Chapter I of 36 CFR or pursuant to the terms and conditions of a specimen collection permit. |
