Summary
[edit]DescriptionInvasive Lobular Carcinoma (43256345075).jpg |
Lymphoid/plasmacytoid cells in stroma. Is this an inflammatory lesion? Could be, but a couple of things raised my suspicion. First, what kinf of inflammatory lesion in the breast looks like this? It doesn't really fit any familiar pattern (abscess, granuloma, etc). Second, since this was a hospital case, I had access to the medical record, so it was an easy matter to check on the imaging results: "Aggressive-looking breast mass.... multiple lytic bone lesions." Whoa! That doesn't sound benign! Time to pull out immunostains from my bag of pathology tricks. |
