English: Additional File 6 Chloroxynil induced cell death – extensive cellular collapse without nuclear contraction The nuclear marker line N7 was mounted in agarose, and chloroxynil was added (final concentration 500 μM) and imaging was initiated collecting Z-series of the hypocotyl-root junction at 2 minute intervals. Loss of nuclear label into the cytoplasm and a generalized loss of GFP fluorescence were followed by staining of nuclei by propidium iodide and massive cellular collapse. The shape of the nuclei remain constant throughout the experiment and do not display the characteristic contractions seen during wound induced cell death.. |
