Français : Le 24 Mars 1980, une campagne nationale d'alphabétisation a été lancée sous l'autorité du Ministre de l'éducation. Menée par 120.000 alphabétiseurs, la campagne a permis de ramener le taux d'analphabétisme de 50 à 13%. A l'occasion de la Journée Internationale de l'Alphabétisation, le prix Nadejda Kroupskaia 1980 a été decerné à la campagne nationale d'alphabétisation du Nicaragua, par un jury désigné par le Directeur général de l'UNESCO
