Im Westfälischen Freilichtmuseum Hagen nachgestellte Aufnahmen schildern die Arbeitsgänge vorindustrieller Papiermacherei: Lumpen sortieren, schneiden und stampfen; Papier schöpfen mit dem Schöpfsieb; Pressen der Papierbögen. In der Papierfabrik Gohrsmühle wird der industrielle Produktionsablauf gezeigt: Zellstoffaufbereitung in Holländer, Pulper und Refiner; Entstehen einer Papierbahn auf der Langsiebpapiermaschine; Glätten von Papierbögen auf dem Kalander; Sortieren und Verpacken des Papiers. Historische Fotografien, die der Papierschöpfer Joseph Roth erläutert, halten die Arbeitssituation in einer Papierfabrik in der ersten Jahrhunderthälfte fest.
