Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Gjøngehøvdingen, der foregår under og efter den Første Karl Gustav-krig i 1657-1658. Kapellanen Oluf Tange hjælper kaptajn Manheimer, en tysk lejesoldat i den svenske hær, med at flygte fra slottet Høfdingsgaard med et improviseret lagenreb. Men da kaptajnen er halvejs, stopper kapellanen og kalder på gøngerne, så de kan skyde kaptajnen. Da de gør det, opfylder de Kulsoens spådom om, at kaptajnen hverken ville dø på jorden eller i vandet.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Gjøngehøvdingen by Carit Etlar which takes place during and after the Dano-Swedish War in 1657-1658. The curate Oluf Tange helps Captain Manheimer, a German mercenary hired by Swedish army, to escape from the castle Høfdingsgaard with an improvised sheet rope. But when the captain is halfway the curate stops and call for the gønger so that they can shoot the captain. As they does so they fulfil the prophecy of Kulsoen; that the captain would neither die at land or in the water.
