Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Gjøngehøvdingen, der foregår under og efter den Første Karl Gustav-krig i 1657-1658. Dronningens hofdame Julie Parsberg og Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen mødes i haven ved Jungshoved Slot. Svend Poulsen og Julie Parsberg har været forelskede, men for få dage siden så han hende sammen med kaptajn Kai Lykke. Nu er Svend Poulsen kommet for at finde ud af, hvad der foregår, idet har frygter, at han ikke har gjort nok for at blive værdig til hendes kærlighed. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion. Svend Poulsens udseende er også fantasi, for der kendes ingen portrætter af ham.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Gjøngehøvdingen by Carit Etlar which takes place during and after the Dano-Swedish War in 1657-1658. The lady-in-waiting, Julie Parsberg, and Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, meets in the garden of Jungshoved Castle. Svend Poulsen and Julie Parsberg has been in love but a few days before he saw her together with Captain Kai Lykke. Now Svend Poulsen wants to what is going on fearing that he hasn't done enough to be worthy of her love. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) was a real person but the story is fiction. The look of Svend Poulsen is also fantasy as there is no known portraits of him.
