Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Gjøngehøvdingen, der foregår under og efter den Første Karl Gustav-krig i 1657-1658. Vignet fra slutningen af kapitel 9, hvor Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen møder borgmester Hans Nansen fra København. Svend Poulsen tror på et tidspunkt at Hans Nansen er en forræder og er parat til at dræbe ham. Men den kloge Hans Nansen overbeviser ham om, at han bare prøver ham. Pennen er stærkere end sværdet, som ordsproget siger.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Gjøngehøvdingen by Carit Etlar which takes place during and after the Dano-Swedish War in 1657-1658. Endpiece of chapter 9 where Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, meets the Copenhagen mayor Hans Nansen. At a point Svend Poulsen believes that Hans Nansen is a traitor and thus is ready to kill him. But the clever Hans Nansen convince him that he is just testing him. The pen is mightier than the sword, as the adage says.
