Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Gjøngehøvdingen, der foregår under og efter den Første Karl Gustav-krig i 1657-1658. Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen og borgmester Hans Nansen fra København er forklædt med lagener for at undgå de svenske soldater i den snedækkede skov. Svend Poulsen ved endnu ikke, hvem Hans Nansen er, og hvad han vil ham. Men deres samtale får Svend Poulsen til at tro, at Hans Nansen arbejder for svenskerne. Han er parat til at skyde Hans Nansen men synes ikke at han er det værd. Hans Nansen overbeviser ham dog om, at han bare ville prøve ham. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679) og Hans Nansen (1598-1667) var virkelige personer, men historien er fiktion.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Gjøngehøvdingen by Carit Etlar which takes place during and after the Dano-Swedish War in 1657-1658. Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, and the Copenhagen mayor Hans Nansen are disguised with sheets to avoid the Swedish troops in the snowy forest. Svend Poulsen don't know yet who Hans Nansen and what he want. But their talk lead to him to believe that he works for the Swedes. He is ready to shoot Hans Nansen but don't think he is worth it. Hans Nansen however convince him that he was just testing him. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) and Hans Nansen (1598-1667) were real persons but the story is fiction.
