Description |
Original vintage travel advertising poster for La Vallee d'Aoste (Italie) / The Aosta Valley (Italy). Great image of the valley with pine trees in the foreground and mountain peaks covered in snow in the background under a deep blue sky. Artwork by Giuseppe Magagnoli (aka Maga; 1878-1933). Valle d’Aosta is a region of northwest Italy bordered by France and Switzerland. Lying in the Western Alps, it's known for the iconic, snow-capped peaks the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso. Major ski resorts include Courmayeur and Cervinia. The region’s countryside is dotted with medieval castles and fortresses, such as the 14th-century Castello Fénis and Castello di Verrès. Published and printed in Italy by ENIT. Very good condition, small paper loss in top left corner, slight creases and minor tears on margins. Country: Italy, year of printing: 1931, designer: Giuseppe Magagnoli, size (cm): 99.5x62 |
