Gebakken bokking vooor de Nederlandse militairen in Indonesie; Weekjournaal van Polygoon Hollands Nieuws van week 6 uit 1949.; In IJmuiden wordt gebakken bokking ingeblikt tbv de Nederlandse militairen in Indonesië. De nadruk wordt gelegd op de voordelen van machinale verwerking van de haring tov handmatige: de uurproduktie ligt veel hoger (2500 stuks tegen 200 stuks) en, omdat de handen niet hebben te lijden onder de scherpe graten, kan de hele dag worden dóórgewerkt. SHOTS: - vier mannen staan aan een tafel handmatig haring schoon te maken; - andere mannen storten een bak gevangen haring in de invoerbak van een schoonmaakmachine, die vervolgens de haring mechanisch schoonmaakt; - de schoongemaakte haringen worden gefrituurd; - meisjes aan een lopende band stoppen de gefrituurde haringen in blikjes.
