Description
English:
Franciscan convent (Est. 1332), Transfiguration of Our Lord church. The oldest part is the 14th-century sacristy. The oratorio is in late Gothic style, a work a few decades later. Damaged church rebuilt in around 1460s. Convent buildings destroyed in the 15-16th century. Church roof destroyed in the 2nd half of the 17th cent. and-after rebuilt-in 1715 by fire. Oldest bell of the church is 1751 works. Current form created in the 18th century. Baroque nave. The top part of the tower with the clock is Baroque, lower five? level is Middle Age works. Saint Francis altar (~1755), Saint Anthony altar (~1737) side altars and pulpit (~1741). The oratorio has two 17th century altars. There is a facade plaque-relief to John III Sobieski by Jenő Firm (1933 marble and gypsum? work)- In the eastern yard of the convent is a statue of Saint Stephen of Hungary and a statue of Saint Ladislaus both are - 7-9 Haynald Lajos Street, Szécsény, Nógrád County, Hungary.
