Headed to the Bearwood / Edgbaston border for two plaques (also near Smethwick). Long walk around here. This is a former Methodist Church, is now a Black church called "The Redeemed Christian Church of God House of Praise". Is Grade II listed. <a href="http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-410470-methodist-church-birmingham" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Methodist Church, Birmingham</a> The following building shall be added to the list; BIRMINGHAM SANDON ROAD SP 08 NW Bearwood 6/10074 Methodist Church II Methodist Church. 1896-1900; by Joseph Lancaster Ball; built by John Barnsley and Sons. Red brick with freestone dressings. Slate and lead-clad roofs, nave and chancel roof replaced with concrete tiles. PLAN: Aligned on north-south axis. Nave and chancel in one, two aisles, small 'N.W.' tower and porch, 'N' vestry and gallery at 'W' end of nave. Gothic Freestyle. EXTERIOR: Red brick with bands of stone. Lancet clerestory windows set into a blind arcades with pilasters, bands of stone in the spandrels and a large domestic-character 5-light chancel window. Small 'N.W.' tower with stone bands, frieze of checkerwork and a tall arcaded stone bell-stage with a short lead-clad spire. At base of tower, to left, gabled porch and to left of that a flat-roofed vestry. 'West' gable-end has tall 2-light window and flanking stone buttresses. Large 6-light 'E' window with Geometric tracery. INTERIOR: Brick walls with stone dressings. 4-bay arcades with blind arcaded clerestory above. Plastered chancel with stone dressings; large 6-light east window with integral traceried reredos, the whole flamed in the 'east' end wall with cusped panels to the sides of the window. Stained-glass in 'E' window is a 1919 memorial and the other stained-glass is of circa 1930. Furnishings intact, including:- gallery at 'west' end, benches, choir-stalls, pulpit and organ; original roofs.
