Description
English:  : Church of Saint John the Baptist. Former medieval Holy Cross Church (1517) stand here. In the 18th centery a cemetery was around the church (based on Rosenfeld report, 1728). The new larger church was consecrateed in 1799. The tower is 39m high. It has five bells (four from Holy Cross Church), Iron cross was repaired in 1814 after a storm damaged. The golden plating (1843). Th baptism of Jesus main altar oil paintig (József Ferenc 'Falkoner', 1799). Saint Pius and Saint Vince reliques walled into the altar at the consecration. Saint Anne altar (left of main altar) József Ferenc 'Falkoner', 1799 works. Mátyás Bukor 19th century carpenter master donated dour altar paintings (disappeared). Saint John of Nepomuk altar-column (1830). Rieger organ built in 1923. Virgen Mary altar (left after entrance). Seccos,-Dream of Jacob,- is 625 sqm one of the largest in the 20th century in Central Europe. (László Patay, 1994).- Szent István square, Old Town, Ráckeve, Pest County, Hungary.
