Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Historical marker on the north side of the "Flatiron" Triangle Building at the southwest corner of East Park Avenue (City Hall Plaza) and Main Street (Florida State Road 559) in Auburndale, Florida. The marker claims it was given the name "Flatiron" after clothing press irons of the 1920's. It might seem fun to assume they could've named it for the Flatiron Building on Fifth Avenue and Broadway between 22nd and 23rd Streets in Manhattan and didn't want to admit it, but there's no evidence of that.
