Description |
English: Flag, Irish Lights Commissioners The flag of the Irish Lights Commissioners. It is made in synthetic fibre bunting and is machine-sewn. The design consists of a red St George's cross on a white background with a painted lighthouse and lightship in alternate cantons. Marked in ink on the hoist: 'IRISH LIGHTS'. The flag has a rope and toggle attached. The new version of this flag, introduced in September 1970, has the cross of St Patrick instead of that of St George. The Irish Lights Commissioners is the lighthouse authority for all the island of Ireland, its adjacent seas and islands. It is a cross-border organisation with its headquarters in Dublin. |
