English: Time-lapse movie of Dex-treated aggregates of U87-MG cells. Cells were treated with 10−6 M Dex for 16 hours and aggregates were generated as previously described. Aggregates were plated on tissue culture plastic in complete CO2-independent medium containing 10−6 M Dex, and incubated on a heated stage of an inverted microscope. Images were captured every five-minutes for 8-hours. A time-lapse movie of aggregate spreading was generated by importing the Tiff images into Quicktime. Dex-treatment appears to increase cell-cell cohesion at the advancing cell front and aggregates appear to spread as sheets. |
