English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Bussiness in the harbour of Vlaardingen at the arrival of the first herring. SHOTS: -harbour, where the fishing boat ("VL 114") with the first herring aboard is moored; - barrel of herring is lifted out of the hold and is rolled ashore over a gangplank; - cart with a number of barrels of herring is pushed and pulled forward; - (high camera angle) space, filled withbarrels of herring, where men open the barrels, medium shot of a man opening a barrel and pushing the herring under water; - close up of a man eating herring in the treadtional way; - man handing out herring to the eager bystanders.
Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd.
Bedrijvigheid in de haven van Vlaardingen bij de aankomst van de eerste haring. SHOTS: - haven, waar het vissersschip ("VL 114") met de eerste haring aan boord, ligt afgemeerd; - ton haring wordt uit ruim gehesen en via loopplank van boord gerold; - kar met aantal tonnen haring wordt voortgeduwd en -getrokken; - (hoog camerastandpunt) ruimte, gevuld met haringtonnen waar mannen tonnen openen, mediumshot van man die ton opent en haringen onder water duwt; - cu man die op traditionele wijze haring eet; - man bij kraam deelt haringen uit aan gretige omstanders. |
