Description
English: Early Cycladic pottery in the form of a face, mask? Maybe for cultic use? From Naxian countryside, 3000-2000 BC. Archaeological Museum of Naxos. In the National Archaeological Museum of Athens have two very similar things (inv. no. 6163), they are said to come from Kastraki near Poliochni on Nax, EC II, about 2500 BC, but they describe them as a protective masks for smelting of leadː Clay hemispherical vessels with holes. They look like ritual masks but were possibly used in metal working.
Čeština: Raně kykladská keramická nádoba tvaru obličeje, prý asi rituální maska. Z Naxijského venkova, 3000 až 2000 př. n. l. Archeologické muzeum na Naxu. V Národním archeologickém muzeu v Ahténách mají dvě velice podobné, prý pocházejí z Kastraki u Poliochni na Naxu, EC II, asi 2500 před n. l., ale popisují je jako ochranné omůcky při tavbě olovaː Polokulovité keramické nádoby s otvory a plastickými ozdobami. Vypadají jako rituální masky, ale pravděpodobně byly používané při metalurgii.
