English: Preparatory drawing (one of six) for erotic handscroll painting of famous kabuki actors in imagined scenes of lovemaking: on left Onoe Kikugoro III as Fuwa Banzaemon behind a screen which is signed, and on right Ichikawa Danjuro VII as Nagoya Sanzaburo making love to a courtesan Katsuragi. The screen painted with the popular deities Daikoku and Ebisu. Ink on paper, with evidence of charcoal underdrawing.
