English: The oldest seal, proven since 1261 displayed a crescent and three stars on a shield. Its meaning is unknown. The current pattern was displayed on prints of local seals since 1374 and remained basically the same since then. A lying "S" on a stamp from the 15th century was misinterpreted as a flame, reminding on the conquest of the castle in Peißenberg by the citizens of Weilheim in 1388. The seals and coloured paintings of the amrs are congruent since the 16th century. |
